A harness can refer to a type of tools which is used to animals for restarining them or onto humans to give them suppport and safety. The one in context here is a harness used for humans. This type of harness is a looped restrain or support which is ususally used by someone climbing, whether he or she is climbing a mountain, a really big tree, or a building. The tool consists of a loop or network of rope or straps.

It provides safety to someone and prevents the person from falling when climbing. The way to use it is by tangling it around someone’s waist and connect it to a wire or a roop tied to a solid thing like a pole or attached to the ground or between rocks by using other protecting devices like nuts and hexes.
